About Us

Romania’s Embassy in Copenhagen ensures all the representation functions of Romania in the Kingdom of Denmark and the Republic of Iceland. The representation role the Embassy means to promote and protect the interests of the Romanian state and the Romanian citizens, in accordance with the international law, Romanian and Danish and Icelandic legislation. Exerting its functions of representation, the Embassy also coordinates the activity of the honorary consulates of Romania in Aarhus, Ikast and Sonderborg in Denmark, and Reykjavik, in Iceland.

The Embassy facilitates the dialogue between the Romanian and Danish and Icelandic institutions in all fields of co-operation that represent the content of the relations between Romania and these countries. The Embassy’s team is dedicated to promote the bilateral relations between Romania and Denmark and Iceland, European values, and Romania’s image in these states. We aim to further develop and deepen the excellent relationship existing between Romania and Denmark and Iceland, contributing with ideas and expertise to the co-operation agenda in political, economic, cultural, academic and scientific fields. Thus, Romania’s European profile, its potential of economic development and modernization of society and prestigious Romanian cultural patrimony and the countless intellectual and talent resources of the Romanians are all unveiled.

The Embassy is actively involved in maintaining and foster links between the Romanian community in Denmark and in Iceland and Romania. We aim to defend the interests of the Romanian community solving the cases of vulnerability and preventing some abuse situations.

The Embassy’s activity is based on the close and lasting bilateral relations between states that share the fundamental values of democracy, the rule of law, liberty and prosperity, promoting peace, human rights and international co-operation, sharing a common vision on topics of global interest.
