Romanian winery Jelna takes its first step in the Danish market

Tuesday, the 11th of June, the trade office of the Embassy organized a wine tasting in cooperation with Jelna Winery, at the Romanian Ambassador's Residence.

Winemaker Darius Pripon talked about the importance of the sustainability of wine production in Transylvania, and presented the most recent wines of Jelna: Muscat Ottonel & Feteasca Regala 2018, Feteasca Alba 2017, Fetească Regală 2018, Sauvignon Blanc 2018, Rosé Pinot Noir 2018, Rosé Pinot Noir Wild yeast 2018, Pinot Noir 2018.

The event featured on the official agenda of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council, and is a part of the efforts to promote Romanian products on the Danish market.

Located in the hills of Jelna, Transylvania, this winery owned by a young family of entrepreneurs has 26 hectares of vine with an average age of 5 years and produces 80.000 bottles annually. The wine cellar is small, crafted, and boutique-like and has cutting-edge technology that allows the grapes to be processed to their maximum potential.
